SALON POLICIES

RETAIL RETURN POLICY

If any retail item is found to be defective or unsatisfactory, it may be eligible for a refund or exchange within 7 days of purchase, provided a receipt is presented.

ADJUSTMENT POLICY

If a guest is not completely satisfied with the result of their service, they may request an adjustment of the same service with the same technician at no additional cost within one (1) week of the original service date. Guests who decline to return to same stylist for an adjustment may receive service from another stylist, at no charge, within one week of the initial service. However, guest will be referred to Management, who will select another employee based on the individual situation.

CUSTOM SERVICE POLICY

A consultation is required prior to booking any Custom or Texture Services (ie: perm, keratin, custom extensions.) The terms and conditions for custom services, including hair extensions, texture services and microblading are governed by a separate written agreement between Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio and the guest. Custom services require a non-refundable deposit and a completed service agreement prior to a guest’s service appointment.

CANCELLATION & CONFIRMATION POLICY

At Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio, we deeply value your appointments and the time our team dedicates to your service. Each booking represents a personal commitment of our time and expertise, reserved exclusively for you, with no double bookings to ensure the highest quality service. We understand that life happens, and adjustments may occasionally be necessary. To accommodate everyone fairly, we kindly request at least 24 hours' notice for any appointment changes or cancellations.

When appointments are missed or canceled without sufficient notice, it impacts not only our service providers but also other guests awaiting availability. To ensure fairness for all, guests who fail to provide adequate notice on three (3) separate occasions will be required to place a non-refundable deposit for future bookings. This deposit reserves your spot and ensures our team’s time is respected. Should further cancellations occur without 24-hour notice, a 50% service fee will be charged to the credit card on file.

As a valued guest, your loyalty means everything to us, and we are committed to providing exceptional service at every visit. To assist with appointment management, reservations made more than 48 hours in advance will be confirmed via email, text, or phone. Please note, if we are unable to confirm your appointment 24 hours prior to the scheduled time, your appointment may be subject to cancellation.

For your convenience, we offer online booking and are happy to answer any questions regarding our policies, cancellations, or personalized services. PAYMENT OPTIONS

Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio accepts cash, valid gift cards, debit cards and all major credit cards. We do not accept Personal Checks.

GRATUITIES

Gratuities are an important way for our team members to feel appreciated for the exceptional service they provide. Your generosity directly contributes to the livelihood of our stylists, as gratuities form a significant part of their income. Each team member strives to ensure that your experience at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio exceeds your expectations, and your gratuity is a wonderful way to acknowledge their dedication and hard work.

How to Provide Gratuities:

  • Gratuities may be given directly to any of our team members.
  • For your convenience, gratuities can also be placed in envelopes located at the front desk and dropped into our secure box.
  • As an added convenience, gratuities may now be added to your credit card bill.
  • Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for gratuities.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS 

At Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio, we are committed to ensuring your comfort and protecting your personal belongings during your visit. We offer luxurious, complimentary robes for all guests to safeguard your clothing throughout your service. While every effort is made to protect your belongings, we kindly remind you that Meraki is not liable for any damage to personal items such as handbags or garments. To further enhance your experience and ensure the utmost care, we strongly recommend changing into one of our robes prior to the start of your service. Your comfort and peace of mind are our top priorities.

CHILDREN

Children under the age of 12 are considered minors at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio. To ensure the comfort and relaxation of all guests, children must be supervised at all times and remain seated in the designated areas. Unsupervised or disruptive behavior, such as running or playing, is not permitted.

Children’s Services FAQs:

  • What is considered a child? Any guest 12 years old or under.
  • Which stylists are available for children’s haircuts? Our Academy Stylists and Junior Stylists offer children's cuts at child-friendly rates. All other stylists charge full adult prices.
  • Pricing for children’s haircuts: Prices range from $27 to $35 depending on hair length and styling needs.
  • Can I bring my child while I get a service? Yes, but your child must remain seated in the waiting area. If your child can not be left alone in the waiting area, we suggest a care taker to accompany them. Please take complete responsibility for your child while at the salon as a courtesy to the other mothers and fathers trying to relax and enjoy services. There is absolutely No running, playing, yelling, or rough housing will be allowed in the salon at any time.

Please remember to always accompany your child.

MINORS Policy 

Meraki Stylists are not permitted to perform color services on guests under 18 years of age. Any minor under the age of 18 must have an adult guardian present during their service consultation before receiving services in the salon.

  • Personal information — name, phone number, email address, and social media handle provided at booking or during your visit
  • Service records — hair history, colour formulations, consultation notes, and service preferences stored in your guest profile
  • Payment information — processed securely through our point-of-sale system; we do not store full credit card numbers
  • Photography — with your consent, before/after images used for service records and marketing
  • Website data — standard analytics including IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected via third-party tools

III · Data Sharing & Retention

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your information may be shared with our booking software provider and payment processor strictly for service delivery purposes. We retain your guest profile for as long as you remain an active guest. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at info@salonmerakinyc.com.

2-way SMS Communications

These are direct communications to your mobile number from the business. They can confirm status of your appointment, notify you of business closings, and provide responses to messages received.
 
 You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP". After you send the SMS
 message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been
 unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to
 join again, reply START to (718) 921-6100.
 
 If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the
 keyword HELP for more assistance.
 
 Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
