Shane

Although not a stylist, Shane brings a tremendous amount of talent and vision to the helm of Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio.

As graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School, and an accomplished Martial Artist for over 2 decades, Shane has gone on to successfully run his families martial arts school & later his own business, Apex Credit Solutions which specializes in assisting consumers navigate the credit reporting process, raising their scores and addressing adverse information including late payments, collections, foreclosures, judgments and more.   

Shane is deeply involved in the local community through networking, community involvement and philanthropic endeavors and was formally the board chair of the SIEDC 40 under 40 Leadership Group and is currently the Board Chair of New Vista for Families a Domestic Violence Shelter.  

Together with his wife Jennifer Christie Sorrento, the styling floor director, Shane runs the day to day operations of the business and is directly in charge of all our guests complete satisfaction.

Jenn

Jennifer graduated from Beauty School in 1997 and has never stopped her passion for learning. In 2003 Jennifer attended Vidal Sassoon's Advanced Training Academy in London and became a Paul Mitchell Advanced Educator in 2007. She is passionate about continuing education to stay current on evolving industry trends; in addition to attending, assisting and creating many hair shows and classes throughout the states.

Jennifer brings 20 years of experience in the hair and makeup industry to Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio. Jennifer has spent most of her career at AF Bennett Salon and Wellness Spa, as the styling floor director, educator, master stylist and master colorist. 

Jennifer is a Paul Mitchell Certified level 4 Cutting Specialist the highest accreditation in cutting as well as a master colorist. In addition to her precision cutting skills and expert coloring techniques, Jenn is an expert makeup artist, formal styling specialist and is a certified master technician in Brazilian Blowout, Japanese Straightening, X-Treme Lash, semi -permanent lash applications, as well as Microblading, the revolutionary new custom brow treatment. Jenn is also one of the only certified Master technicians in the application of Great Lengths custom hair extensions on Staten Island!

Even with all of her experience Jennifer is always seeking to improve upon her and her teams knowledge to not only stay on top of the latest trends but to actually create them!

Tom

Tom is a graduate of the Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partner School. Earning his Cosmetology license in 2009,  Tom began his career as an assistant stylist at Gemmette Hair Studio under the tutelage of Jeff Gemmette, Artistic Director and now under Jenn Christie, Styling Floor Director/Owner.

Ever the perfectionist, Tom has excelled in all aspects of hair care & beauty enhancement. Through hard work and continuous education, Tom has risen through the ranks and has gone from a Stylist Assistant to Floor Stylist and later a Senior Stylist and now a Master Stylist.

Tom approaches every service with an almost Zen like approach, methodically executing each and every request our guests place upon him. Tom enters into each and every service with specificity and focus while providing each and every guest he has the privilege of servicing his undivided attention. 

Victoria

Victoria is a graduate of the Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partner School. Earning her Cosmetology license in 2010. Victoria began her career as an assistant stylist at AF Bennett Salon & Wellness Spa and was accepted into the AF Bennett Advanced Training Academy where she studied under Jenn Christie Styling Floor Director / Salon Educator.

Through continuous education and dedication to her craft Victoria has excelled in all aspects of hair and beauty enhancement. As a Master Stylist Victoria’s expertise includes precision cutting, advanced coloring, balayage, highlighting and formal styling and brings a decade of experience to our team as a Master Stylist.

Victoria finds fulfillment in making people feel confident about themselves and strives to deliver the very best service to each guest that she has the privilege to servicing. We are excited to be a part of her next chapter and to have her as a member of our expert style team!

Nivea

Nivea is a graduate of the Aveda Institute NYC, Earning her Cosmetology license in 2017. While in school Nivea assisted other stylists and plied her skills on family & friends, performing beautiful cuts and developing her makeup artistry. Upon graduation Nivea began her career with Dry Bar Downtown as stylist performing dry styles including blowouts & braids before finding her home with us at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio.

Passionate for her craft and committed to all she does, Nivea demonstrates her skills and desire for knowledge and growth every day.  In 2018 Nivea was accepted into the Meraki Advanced Training Academy where she studied under Jenn Christie Styling Floor Director / Salon Educator.

Nivea graduated the Meraki Advanced Training Academy where she excelled in precision haircutting and advanced color application and was elevated to a Floor Stylist.  Nivea has been promoted multiple times and is now a Senior Stylist and continues to advance her skills, improve efficiency and is certified in most services in the Meraki Service catalog.

With a passion for hair & makeup from an early age, Nivea is a versatile technician providing beautiful haircuts and styling services, makeup and eyelash extensions.  Nivea's goal is to help every guest achieve their desired look and have them feel as good on the inside as the they look on the outside! 

Leslie

Leslie is a graduate of the Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences (LIBS Formally, now, Empire Beauty Schools) located in Brooklyn, earning her Cosmetology License in 2005.

Leslie began her career like most others, working as an assistant stylist and then as a Junior Stylist at various salons throughout Staten Island before relocating to Manhattan, taking a position at Revolver Salon @ Ricky’s NYC.

In her new position Leslie expanded her knowledge of color and professional beauty products and focused on continuing education to continue to grow her technical skill set and service a high volume of daily clients who lived in and worked in Manhattan.

Later, Leslie was promoted to Salon Manager and oversaw daily operations as well as guest relations while servicing her own guests from behind the chair.

Now 15 Years into her craft, Leslie continues to love what she does and continues to explore new and exciting ways to provide every guest she has the privilege of servicing, everything they wish to achieve.   

Leslie is Specially Certified in various Salon offerings including Brazilian Blowout, Keratin Services, Advances Color Techniques, French Cutting Methods and Custom Extensions to name a few.

Fallon

Fallon is a graduate of the Beauty Culture Academy, Earning her Cosmetology license in 2017. While in school Fallon assisted other stylists and plied her skills on family & friends, performing beautiful cuts and developing her cutting artistry. 

Inspired by her cousin Alex an accomplished salon professional, Fallon is dedicated and passionate in all she does. Fallon began her career at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio as an assistant stylist aiding the senior members of the Meraki Style Team in the service of guests daily while working closely under the guidance of Meraki Salon Educators in order to learn advanced skills, improve efficiency and learn our specific procedures. 

Excelling quickly Fallon was accepted into the Meraki Advanced Training Academy where she studied under Jenn Christie Styling Floor Director / Salon Educator to prepare for a career behind the chair and was elevated to the role of a floor stylist in 2019.

Fallon demonstrates her skills and desire for knowledge and growth every day and is a versatile technician providing beautiful haircuts and styling services.   

Raquel

Raquel is a graduate of the Career School of New York, earning her Cosmetology license in 2019. Raquel began her career as an assistant stylist at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio and was accepted into the Meraki Advanced Training Academy where she has studied and trained under Jenn Christie Styling Floor Director / Salon Educator. 

Raquel started her journey on a path to become a professional makeup artist but quickly fell in love with all aspects of haircare and is now one of our newest artists to join the styling floor team offering beautiful and budget friendly services.

Raquel loves the feeling of making a difference in the lives of our guests and maybe just a little brighter. Raquel loves what she does and she strives to deliver the very best service to each guest that she has the privilege to servicing. We are excited to be a part of her growth and to have her as a member of our expert style team!

Francesca

Francesca is a graduate of MUD Make-Up Designory and the Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partner School, earning her Cosmetology license in 2021. Francesca began her professional development as a makeup artist but was quickly drawn to all aspects of hair and beauty enhancement. 

Francesca is one the newest assistant stylists to join the Meraki Style Team and has been recently accepted into the Meraki Advanced Training Academy where she will study under Jenn Christie Styling Floor Director / Salon Educator to prepare for a career behind the chair.

Francesca is loves expressing her creativity through the art of transformation and helping guests achieve the look and confidence they are seeking. Francesca has participated in numerous fashion shows and bridal showcases and continues to excel in all areas of hair and beauty enhancement.

Sofia

Sofia is a graduate of the Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partner School. Earning her Cosmetology license in 2021 Sofia began her professional development as both a makeup artist as well as a hairstylist and loves all aspects of hair and beauty enhancement

 Sofia is one the newest assistant stylists to join the Meraki Style Team and has been recently accepted into the Meraki Advanced Training Academy where she will study under Jenn Christie Styling Floor Director / Salon Educator to prepare for a career behind the chair.

Mirsada

Mirsada Kahari brings over two decades of expertise in skincare to Meraki Hair and Makeup Studio. Earning her NYS Esthetics License from the prestigious Christine Valmy in 2003, Mirsada’s career began as an educator at her alma mater, where she taught the art of understanding and treating skin with a holistic approach. Her philosophy centers on addressing not just the surface of the skin but the whole person, considering factors like diet, stress, and lifestyle to tailor each treatment for optimal results.

Mirsada’s journey has taken her through some of Staten Island’s finest spas, including a fulfilling 16-year tenure at Remedi Spa. Her deep commitment to her clients has earned her a loyal following, with many clients having trusted her from the very beginning of her career.

Now, Mirsada is excited to bring her extensive knowledge and personalized approach to Meraki, where she looks forward to helping clients achieve glowing, healthy skin. Her dedication to building strong, lasting relationships and delivering exceptional care is at the heart of everything she does.
