Shane Sorrento, Owner and Managing Director of Meraki NYC,  is the strategic engine behind the luxury experience Meraki is celebrated for. With decades of business expertise, operational mastery, and an unrelenting drive for excellence, Shane transforms vision into execution—every day, in every corner of the salon.

A graduate of Monsignor Farrell High School and a lifelong martial artist, For over 35 years Shane has been training, teaching, and leading. From successful operation of a martial arts school, to guiding students of all ages, and earning induction into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame. The discipline, precision, and leadership forged on the mat now define his professional approach.

In the financial arena, Shane is a renowned credit expert with more than twenty years of experience restoring, rebuilding, and elevating financial health. As the founder of Apex Credit Solutions, he has helped countless individuals navigate the complexities of credit reporting, resolve debt, and reclaim their financial stability. His leadership extends beyond business as well—Shane served as Board Chair for both the SIEDC 40 Under 40 Leadership Group and New Vista for Families, a domestic violence organization, underscoring his deep commitment to community impact.

Together with his wife, Jennifer, Shane co-founded Meraki NYC and reshaped what a luxury beauty experience can be. From brand identity and technology to marketing, guest services, and staff development, Shane curates every detail with intention. His blend of innovation, strategic thinking, and forward-moving energy has positioned Meraki as a destination synonymous with high-end service, artistry, and sophistication.

Jenn - Artistic Director/Owner

Jennifer's journey in the beauty industry began well before she graduated from cosmetology school in 1997, and her passion for the craft has only grown stronger since. Jennifer has always been a trailblazer in the beauty industry. After graduating from Beauty School, she took her passion for learning to the next level by attending Vidal Sassoon's Advanced Training Academy in London and becoming a Paul Mitchell Advanced Educator. Her dedication to staying at the forefront of evolving trends has led her to attend, assist, and create countless hair shows and classes across the United States.

As the artistic director and co-founder of Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio, Jennifer is the creative force behind the salon's vision. She brings an impressive 28 years of experience, including two decades at AF Bennett Salon and Wellness Spa as the styling floor director, master educator, master stylist, and master colorist. Her credentials are unmatched: she holds the highest-level Cutting Specialist accreditation and is a master colorist known for her precision and artistry.

But Jennifer's talents don't stop at hair. She is also an expert makeup artist, formal styling specialist, and keratin treatment guru. As a certified master technician in Brazilian Blowout, Japanese Straightening, X-Treme Lash, and Microblading, she transforms her clients with cutting-edge techniques. She is also a custom extension specialist certified in sew-in, tape-in, and keratin tip applications, and one of the only certified master technicians in Great Lengths custom hair extensions on Staten Island.

Jennifer's relentless pursuit of excellence drives her to not only stay on top of the latest trends but to set them, inspiring her team and elevating the standards of beauty and style.

Tom - Artistic Director

An Artistic Director at Meraki is the pinnacle of expertise in hairstyling and artistry. They are among our most advanced technicians, masters of Precision Cutting and Advanced Color Application, and certified in every service we offer. With a minimum of 250 hours of rigorous, continuing education—through both in-salon training and specialized courses—they set the bar for excellence. These master stylists have worked closely with our Styling Floor Director to elevate their craft, completing the prestigious Meraki Salon Educators Program. As both mentors and innovators, they guide new team members and senior stylists, sharing their knowledge and shaping the next generation of talent. Each Artistic Director boasts at least 5-7 years of industry experience, placing them at the forefront of beauty and fashion trends.

Tom is no exception. A graduate of the Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partner School, Tom earned his Cosmetology license in 2009 and quickly climbed the ranks. From starting as an assistant stylist to becoming a Floor Stylist, Senior Stylist, Master Stylist, and now Artistic Director, Tom has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his craft. Working closely with our Styling Floor Director, Jenn, and our advanced styling team, he has developed a reputation for perfection in every detail.

Tom’s approach to hairstyling is nothing short of extraordinary. His methodical, almost Zen-like execution ensures that every service he provides is tailored to perfection. Each guest receives his full attention, as Tom brings a level of focus and care that makes every appointment a true luxury experience. His dedication to continuous learning and personal growth shines through in every aspect of his work, making him one of the most sought-after stylists at Meraki.

Victoria - Master Stylist

Victoria has achieved mastery in both precision haircuts and advanced color techniques, setting herself apart as a top-tier stylist at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio. With certifications in every service offered at the studio, she embodies the high standards of the Meraki team.

Meraki Master Stylists undergo extensive training, completing over 250 hours of continuing education through exclusive in-salon training and advanced courses, guided closely by our Artistic Director Jenn. This level of expertise prepares them not only to deliver unparalleled guest experiences but also to mentor and shape the next generation of talent through the Meraki Educators Program.

With a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience, these stylists are at the pinnacle of their craft, excelling in advanced color applications and precision haircuts, alongside certifications in every specialty service Meraki offers.

Victoria is no exception. After earning her cosmetology license in 2010 from the Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partner School, she began her journey at AF Bennett Salon & Wellness Spa, where she was quickly accepted into the AF Bennett Advanced Training Academy, studying under Jenn, the renowned Styling Floor Director and Salon Educator before founding Meraki.

Her unwavering dedication to education and her craft has propelled her to excel in all aspects of hair and beauty. As a Master Stylist, Victoria's expertise spans precision cutting, advanced coloring, balayage, highlighting, and formal styling. With over a decade of experience, she is a vital part of our expert styling team at Meraki.

Victoria's true passion lies in helping people feel their absolute best. Every service she provides is delivered with the utmost care and precision, ensuring that each guest leaves feeling confident, refreshed, and truly pampered. Nivea - Master Stylist

Leslie is a seasoned expert with over 15 years in the beauty industry, blending passion, precision, and a constant pursuit of excellence. After earning her Cosmetology License from the prestigious Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences in Brooklyn, she began her journey by mastering foundational skills at top salons across Staten Island. However, it was her move to Manhattan, joining Revolver Salon at Ricky’s NYC, that catapulted her career. In this fast-paced, high-end environment, Leslie honed her craft, specializing in advanced color techniques and managing a bustling clientele.

Her dedication to education led her to rise quickly through the ranks, eventually being promoted to Salon Manager, where she balanced her leadership role with hands-on styling, never compromising her love for the craft. Leslie’s commitment to perfecting her skills shines through in her certifications, which include Brazilian Blowout, Keratin Services, Advanced Color Techniques, French Cutting Methods, and Custom Extensions.

Even after 15 years, Leslie’s enthusiasm remains undiminished. She is constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation, ensuring that each guest receives not just a service, but a transformative experience.

Jackie - Master Stylist

Jackie McKenna, a Master Stylist and Makeup Artist at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio, is a dynamic talent with an inspiring journey. Initially pursuing a career in mental health, Jackie’s passion for beauty led her to switch gears and pursue cosmetology, where she found her true calling. A proud graduate of The Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partnership School, Jackie’s foundation was built under the mentorship of the renowned Jennifer Sorrento, where she honed her skills at AF Bennett Salon & Wellness Spa.

Now a seasoned professional with over 12 years behind the chair, Jackie is a bridal hair and makeup specialist known for her elegant and flawless formal styling. Her expertise extends beyond the basics—Jackie has mastered the art of creating natural, dimensional beauty through balayage and highlights, while her precision cutting techniques add texture and vibrancy to every look. As a certified eyelash technician, Jackie’s versatility and commitment to enhancing her clients' natural beauty make her a standout in the industry. At Meraki, she combines skill, artistry, and passion to deliver transformative results for every guest.

Fallon - Senior Stylist

Fallon’s journey is one of passion, dedication, and artistry. A graduate of the Beauty Culture Academy, she earned her Cosmetology license in 2017 and immediately began honing her skills, transforming the looks of family and friends with beautiful, precise cuts. Inspired by her cousin Alex, a renowned salon professional, Fallon’s drive to master her craft was clear from the start.

Her career took flight at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio, where she worked closely with senior stylists and Meraki Salon Educators, quickly advancing into the prestigious Meraki Advanced Training Academy. There, under the mentorship of Jennifer Sorrento, Fallon sharpened her technique and prepared for her rise to floor stylist in 2019.

Fallon’s growth reflects her commitment to excellence, and today she brings versatility and expertise to every guest she serves, crafting stunning looks that leave a lasting impression. Every day is an opportunity for her to grow, inspire, and elevate the artistry of hair at Meraki.

Raquel - Senior Stylist

Raquel’s journey in the beauty industry is one fueled by passion and transformation. A graduate of the Career School of New York, she earned her Cosmetology license in 2019 and quickly found herself immersed in the artistry of haircare. Beginning her career as an assistant stylist at Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio, Raquel’s talent and dedication earned her a place in the prestigious Meraki Advanced Training Academy, where she trained under Jenn Sorrento, the Styling Floor Director and Salon Educator.

Initially drawn to makeup artistry, Raquel soon discovered her love for all aspects of haircare. Now, as one of the newest additions to our styling floor team, she offers stunning, budget-friendly services that reflect her artistic vision and commitment to excellence. Raquel takes immense pride in making a meaningful impact on her guests' lives, striving to brighten their day with each service she provides.

Sofia - Senior Stylist

Sofia's passion for beauty knows no bounds. A graduate of the prestigious Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partner School, she earned her Cosmetology license in 2021, immediately showcasing her talent as both a makeup artist and hairstylist. With a flair for all things hair and beauty, Sofia quickly made her mark, joining the Meraki Style Team as one of its newest assistant stylists.

Her talent and dedication did not go unnoticed, as she was swiftly accepted into the renowned Meraki Advanced Training Academy, where she studied under the expert guidance of Jennifer Sorrento, the salon’s Styling Floor Director and Salon Educator. Through this mentorship, Sofia has honed her skills and is now preparing for an exciting career behind the chair.

Sofia’s true passion lies in the art of transformation, using her creativity to help guests feel more confident and beautiful. Whether it's a bold new hairstyle or a subtle enhancement, she thrives on delivering looks that empower her clients. Natacha - Junior Stylist

Natacha is a licensed New York State Cosmetologist and a proud graduate of Academy NYC, a Paul Mitchell Partnership School. She recently completed Meraki’s prestigious Advanced Training Academy—an achievement reserved for only the most dedicated and driven emerging artists—and has now been elevated to the rank of Junior Stylist.

During her time as an Apprentice and Assistant Stylist at Meraki, Natacha trained side by side with our elite style team, assisting in guest services while receiving intensive, hands-on instruction from our top Salon Educators. This immersive experience strengthened her technical foundation, sharpened her efficiency, and deepened her understanding of Meraki’s signature methods and luxury standards.

Now servicing her own growing clientele, Natacha brings passion, precision, and creativity to every guest she touches. With her strong work ethic and rapidly evolving skill set, she is quickly becoming a rising star—ready to deliver elevated, confidence-boosting beauty experiences with the Meraki touch.

Angelina - Assistant Stylist

Angelina Borge, a 2023 graduate of Academy NYC, A Paul Mitchell Partner School, is a licensed New York State Cosmetologist currently embarking on an exciting journey through Meraki’s Advanced Training Academy. Her passion for the beauty industry is matched only by her dedication to learning from the best.

As an Apprentice Stylist, Angelina works closely with Meraki’s talented style team, assisting in the daily service of guests while undergoing intensive training under the guidance of expert Salon Educators. She is continuously building her skills, learning advanced techniques, and mastering Meraki’s unique service procedures. In addition to her assisting duties, she takes the initiative to service her own models weekly, refining her expertise with hands-on experience.

Mirsada - Estetician

Mirsada Kahari brings over two decades of expertise in skincare to Meraki Hair and Makeup Studio. Earning her NYS Esthetics License from the prestigious Christine Valmy in 2003, Mirsada’s career began as an educator at her alma mater, where she taught the art of understanding and treating skin with a holistic approach. Her philosophy centers on addressing not just the surface of the skin but the whole person, considering factors like diet, stress, and lifestyle to tailor each treatment for optimal results.

Mirsada’s journey has taken her through some of Staten Island’s finest spas, including a fulfilling 16-year tenure at Remedi Spa. Her deep commitment to her clients has earned her a loyal following, with many clients having trusted her from the very beginning of her career.

Now, Mirsada is excited to bring her extensive knowledge and personalized approach to Meraki, where she looks forward to helping clients achieve glowing, healthy skin. Her dedication to building strong, lasting relationships and delivering exceptional care is at the heart of everything she does.
